What equipment is required for a complete bulk-blending (BB) fertilizer production line?

Bulk-blending (BB) fertilizer is a high-efficiency product created by physically mixing various single-nutrient and compound fertilizer granules according to scientific ratios; the production process involves no chemical reactions, offering simplicity and flexible formulation. A complete BB fertilizer production line comprises five key modules: raw material pretreatment, batching, mixing, conveying, and packaging. These components work in synergy to ensure precise formulation, uniform mixing, and product quality compliance, meeting the demands of large-scale, standardized production.

Raw material pretreatment equipment—primarily crushers and vibrating screens—forms the foundation of production. Fertilizer raw materials often clump or exhibit uneven particle sizes during storage; cage or chain crushers break down agglomerated material to a standard particle size of 1–4 mm. Subsequently, vibrating screens or rotary screens filter out large impurities and fine powder, standardizing particle size. This prevents uneven mixing and inconsistent fertilizer efficacy at the source, laying the groundwork for precise subsequent batching.

The automatic batching system is the core equipment for controlling fertilizer quality, consisting of batching hoppers, high-precision load cells, and a PLC control system. The system supports preset production formulas and simultaneously handles the automatic retrieval, weighing, and feeding of 2 to 8 types of raw materials. Weighing errors are kept within 1%, ensuring precise N-P-K ratios tailored to agricultural needs. Compared to manual batching, fully automatic systems significantly boost efficiency, eliminate formulation deviations, and guarantee consistent nutrient content across every batch.

Mixing equipment serves as the heart of the production line, with the BB fertilizer mixer being the standard choice. Designed for large-scale production, these mixers offer high uniformity, eliminate "dead zones," and operate at high speeds. Drum mixers, featuring a simple structure that minimizes granule breakage, are ideal for small-to-medium production lines; they maximize the preservation of granule integrity and prevent nutrient loss.

Conveying and packaging equipment ensures a seamless, closed-loop production process. Belt conveyors and bucket elevators handle the enclosed transport of materials between stages, minimizing material loss and dust pollution. The system is equipped with a fully automatic quantitative packaging machine and a bag-sewing machine, enabling automated weighing, filling, and sealing operations with an output of 300–500 bags per hour. When paired with simple palletizing equipment, it facilitates an automated production line that significantly reduces labor costs and meets mass production requirements. This equipment configuration is suitable for a wide range of production capacities—from small to large—and is essential for the standardized production of blended fertilizers.
