How to Scientifically Make BB Fertilizer
BB fertilizer, or blended fertilizer, is a new type of fertilizer made by physically mixing various basic fertilizers with similar particle sizes in a specific ratio. Its core advantages are on-demand formulation and precise fertilization. The process is simple and cost-effective, making it widely used in various crop cultivation. Mastering the scientific production method can maximize its fertilizer efficiency and help improve crop quality and yield.
The first step in making BB fertilizer is raw material preparation and pretreatment. High-quality basic fertilizers should be selected. Urea is the preferred nitrogen source, monoammonium phosphate can be used as the phosphorus source, and potassium chloride or potassium sulfate can be selected as the potassium source according to the crop's needs. Magnesium sulfate, borax, and other trace elements can be added to supplement nutrients. All raw materials must ensure uniform particle size (1-4mm) and moisture content below 1%. Lumpy raw materials must be crushed and sieved to avoid stratification or clumping after mixing. Incompatibility should also be avoided; for example, ammonium nitrogen fertilizer should not be mixed with alkaline fertilizers.
Precise proportioning is key to making BB fertilizer. Soil nutrient levels must first be tested, and the appropriate ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium should be calculated based on the nutrient requirements of the target crop. For example, corn-specific fertilizer can be formulated in a 28-10-12 ratio, while fruit and vegetable fertilizers require a balanced NPK ratio, with emphasis on potassium supplementation. An automatic batching system is used, with an error margin controlled within ±0.5%, ensuring uniform and stable nutrient content in each batch. Bentonite or other fillers are added as needed to adjust the total amount.
Mixing must be uniform and free of stratification, a crucial step in the BB fertilizer production line. Weighed raw materials are added to the BB fertilizer mixer in a "heaviest to lightest" order, with a mixing time of 3-10 minutes to ensure even distribution of components. After mixing, the mixture should be sieved promptly to remove oversized particles or impurities to avoid affecting fertilization effectiveness. If the raw materials are highly hygroscopic, a small amount of anti-caking agent can be added to reduce the risk of clumping during storage.
Finally, inspection and packaging are essential. Each batch of finished product is sampled and tested for nutrient content, particle size, and other indicators. Packaging only proceeds after meeting national standards. Sealed packaging is used, with the formula ratio and usage instructions clearly marked. Store in a dry, well-ventilated place, avoiding moisture.
The production of BB fertilizer should follow the principles of "soil testing, formula formulation, mixing, and inspection," taking into account both scientific rigor and practicality. It can adapt to the needs of different soils and crops, while reducing fertilizer waste. It is an effective way to achieve fertilizer reduction and efficiency improvement and promote the green development of modern agriculture.
