What are the main types of fertilizer production lines?

With the advancement of agricultural modernization, fertilizer, as the "nutrient source" for crop growth, has undergone continuous iteration in its production processes, resulting in various production line types adapted to different needs. Different production lines have different focuses in raw materials, processes, and product forms, supporting the diversified needs of agricultural production. Below are the currently mainstream fertilizer production line types and their core characteristics.

Organic fertilizer production lines are core equipment for practicing green agriculture. They mainly use organic waste such as livestock and poultry manure, straw, and kitchen waste as raw materials, producing organic fertilizer through fermentation, crushing, batching, granulation, drying, and packaging. Based on product form, they can be divided into granular organic fertilizer and powdered organic fertilizer production lines. Granular lines require an additional granulation stage, using methods such as flat die extrusion and disc granulation to form the product, making it easy to store and transport. Powdered lines have a relatively simpler process, eliminating the granulation step, resulting in lower costs and suitability for small-scale production. This production line can both realize the resource utilization of waste and improve soil structure, aligning with the trend of environmentally friendly agriculture.

Compound fertilizer production lines are currently the most widely used type in agricultural production. The core process involves mixing nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and trace elements in specific proportions and then producing compound fertilizer through various granulation processes. Mainstream processes include rotary drum granulation, high-tower granulation, extrusion granulation, and spray granulation. Rotary drum granulation is a mature technology with low investment, suitable for producing medium- to low-concentration general-purpose fertilizers; high-tower granulation produces rounded granules with uniform nutrient content and low energy consumption, often used in high-end compound fertilizers; extrusion granulation requires no large amounts of water, is environmentally friendly and energy-saving, suitable for small- to medium-scale production; spray granulation produces high-strength granules with long-lasting effects, suitable for producing high-concentration, long-acting base fertilizers.

BB fertilizer (blended fertilizer) production lines emphasize "customization." The core processes are raw material batching, mixing, metering, and packaging, eliminating the need for granulation. Nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and trace element raw materials can be flexibly combined according to different soil fertility and crop needs to achieve precision fertilization. This production line features simple equipment, low investment, and strong adaptability, widely used for personalized fertilization needs of field crops and cash crops.

In addition, there are specialized production lines with specific applications, such as water-soluble fertilizer production lines. These lines utilize an integrated process of crushing, batching, mixing, and packaging, producing products with high water solubility suitable for water-saving agriculture methods like drip irrigation and sprinkler irrigation. Potassium humate production lines are divided into biochemical and mineral-based methods, using lignite, weathered coal, and other raw materials to produce fertilizers that enhance soil fertility and crop resilience.

The development of different fertilizer production lines not only meets the diverse nutrient needs of agricultural production but also aligns with the concepts of environmentally friendly, efficient, and precise agricultural development. Choosing the right production line requires considering raw material supply, product positioning, and production scale to achieve a win-win situation for both economic and ecological benefits.
